Curious blind kitten chases pet turtle around the room

CHICAGO, May 4 (UPI) -- A Chicago pet owner shared video of the unlikely friendship between his family's turtle and their newest pet -- a blind kitten.

The video, posted to YouTube by Josh Couwenhoven, shows the blind kitten, Rye, feeling her way around the room while the turtle, Lucy, watches.

The kitten locates the turtle and cautiously follows her around the room, being careful not to get too close.

Rye eventually grows bolder and feels out Lucy's shape with a paw.

She loses track of her reptilian cohort a few times, but is able to locate the other animal using her sense of smell.
