Starlings flock together in cloud-like formation over Crimea

SIMFEROPOL, Crimea, May 4 (UPI) -- A cloud-like murmuration of starlings flying in formation over Crimea was caught on camera by a birdwatcher.

The video, filmed in Simferopol on the Crimean peninsula, shows what appears to be hundreds of the small birds flying together.

The gathering, known as a murmuration, is designed to help the starlings find food and ward off birds of prey.

Similar murmurations were previously caught on video over Israel and Britain.
