Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe TALKING HEADS The original four members of the Talking Heads -- frontman David Byrne, guitarist Jerry Harrison, drummer Tina Weymouth and bassist Chris Frantz -- will perform together for the first time in more than a decade at next month's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Billboard.com reports. The ceremony will be held March 18 at New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel and aired two days later on VH1. Advertisement The Talking Heads' final album was "Naked," released in 1988, but the band didn't officially break up until 1991. News of the reunion comes as a surprise -- considering Byrne's 1996 legal action against his former bandmates, in which he sued to prevent them from touring as the Heads. An out-of-court settlement was subsequently reached. NME AWARD NOMINATIONS The Strokes lead the list of nominees for this year's NME Awards That's according to BBC.com, which reports the band is up for five awards, including Best Group. Gorillaz and Radiohead garnered four nods apiece while U2 has three. Advertisement The awards will be presented Feb. 25 in London. Sony Music says the remix disc "This Is A Remix" will hit stores March 12. MTV News reports the label's publicist couldn't offer any details about the CD. But it quotes the Sony Music U.K. Web site saying that the U.K. version of the record will feature mixes of ballads and uptempo dance tracks from all three of the group's albums, "Destiny's Child" (1998), "The Writing's On The Wall" (1999) and "Survivor" (2001). Michelle Williams' still untitled gospel album is due out April 2, according to Columbia Records. Beyoncé Knowles and Kelly Rowland will follow with solo discs of their own. CELINE DION For the past two years, Celine Dion has been on a combination of maternity leave and self-imposed hiatus. Now, according to ABC News, she's ready to restart her career. The revelation comes from an interview that correspondent Barbara Walters had with the 33-year-old singer. It'll air Friday. During the interview, Dion unveiled a new song, "A New Day Has Come." She also talks about her life and the fact that she intends to honor a $100 million contract signed some time ago to appear at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. She says she will play there early in 2003. Advertisement The interview was conducted at the singer's Florida estate. BILLY JOEL Plans are being finalized for the long-awaited mounting of a Broadway musical based on the songs of Billy Joel. Published reports now indicate that the songfest, produced by the multi-talented choreographer Twyla Tharp, will center on the exploits of six close friends from the late 1960s through the late 1980s. Nearly 30 of Joel's compositions will be included. The show, "Movin' Out," will premiere in Chicago. The opening is set for the Schubert Theatre there, sometime in June. Plans are to take the show to the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in September. (The above two items thanks to UPI's Dennis Daily) SXSW Robbie Robertson, formerly of The Band, will deliver the keynote address at the 16th annual South by Southwest Music and Media Conference, taking place in Austin, Texas, in mid-March. Robertson has released four solo albums and scored and produced a number of soundtracks. He's now a creative advisor to Dreamworks Records. The Damned, Cowboy Mouth, Imperial Teen, Magnapop and They Might Be Giants are among the groups scheduled to perform during the music industry event. GEORGE HARRISON TRIBUTE Advertisement Tickets have gone on sale for a George Harrison tribute concert later this month in his hometown of Liverpool, England. Organizers promise "a host of big names" at the event at the Liverpool Empire Theatre on Feb. 24, which would have been Harrison's 59th birthday. The Liverpool City Council, The Cavern Club, the local newspaper and local BBC Radio station are helping to organize the event in honor of the late musician, who died of cancer last November. The company says those TiVo households who watched the football championship game used the pause or replay feature an average of 44 times during the broadcast. Replaying commercials turned out to be the most common usage, with Spears' Pepsi spots the most popular. In fact, her two ads top the TiVo subscribers' list of replayed commercials. The Cadillac CTS ad, Bud Light's "Robot Wars" and the trailer for the upcoming movie "Collateral Damage" round out the top five.
