'Wonder Years' reboot to premiere Sept. 22 on ABC

Aug. 23 (UPI) -- ABC's new reboot of The Wonder Years will premiere on Sept. 22 at 8:30 p.m. EDT, the network announced on Monday, alongside a new poster for the series.

The new Wonder Years will follow a Black family in the 1960s. The poster features star Elisha Williams riding his bike.

Williams stars as Dean, a young boy, with Don Cheadle as Dean's older self, who narrates the series.

Dule Hill stars as Dean's father Bill, with Saycon Sengbloh as his mother Lillian and Laura Kariuki as his sister Kim.

The original Wonder Years with Fred Savage in the lead role ran for six seasons from 1988 to 1993 on ABC.

Saladin K. Patterson created the new Wonder Years and is executive producing along with Savage and Lee Daniels. Save has also directed the pilot episode.
