'Titans' face new threats in Season 3 teaser trailer

June 17 (UPI) -- HBO Max is giving a glimpse of Titans Season 3.

The streaming service shared a teaser trailer for the new season Thursday featuring Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing.

The preview shows the Titans face new threats in Gotham. Grayson (Thwaites) is heard talking about the new dangers in a voiceover.

"This is Gotham. The city breeds a special class of criminal. People die here. People like us," he says.

Titans is based on the DC Comics superhero team Teen Titans. The series follows a young group of heroes as they join forces against evil threats.

Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Curran Walters, Conor Leslie, Minka Kelly, Alan Ritchson and Joshua Orpin co-star. Damaris Lewis will play the villain Blackfire in Season 3.

Titans is developed by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti, with Johns, Berlanti, Greg Walker and Sarah Schechter as executive producers.

Titans Season 3 premieres Aug. 12 on HBO Max.
