May 15 (UPI) -- David Letterman is joining host Seth Meyers on Late Night as a special guest on May 23. Late Night executive producer Mike Shoemaker announced Letterman's upcoming appearance on Twitter Tuesday.
"It's Dave's show and we are just borrowing it. DAVID LETTERMAN will be our guest on Late Night with @sethmeyers on Wednesday May 23rd!" he said.
Letterman hosted NBC's Late Night starting in 1982 for 11 seasons until he exited in 1993 after not becoming host of The Tonight Show following the retirement of Johnny Carson. The comedian then moved to CBS to host Late Show until May 2015 when he handed the program over to Stephen Colbert.
