LONDON, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Christopher Lee released new metal Christmas song "Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing" on Tuesday.

"Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing" is available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon. The actor previously released albums A Heavy Metal Christmas in 2012 and A Heavy Metal Christmas Too in 2013.

Lee's deep and resonant voice is one of his defining characteristics as a performer. He is a classically-trained singer, and developed an interest in metal music in the early 2000s. The actor released a new EP, Metal Knight, inspired by Don Quixote in May.

Lee will reprise the wizard Saruman in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies on Dec. 17. He and Guillermo del Toro are scheduled to provide voice work for Edgar Allan Poe animated anthology Extraordinary Tales.
