Elton John joins lineup for 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve'

This is the first time John will ever sing in New York on New Year's Eve, and his performance will take place right after the Times Square ball drops, ringing in the start to 2015, ABC announced.

NEW YORK, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Elton John is to perform his anthem "I'm Still Standing" in a special live appearance from his concert at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2015.

This is the first time John will sing in New York on New Year's Eve, and his performance will take place right after the Times Square ball drops, ringing in the start to 2015, ABC announced. The bi-coastal, televised celebration will include hours of special performances and reports on New Year's festivities from around the globe, with Seacrest leading the traditional countdown to midnight from Times Square in Manhattan as he has for the last nine years.

As previously announced, Jenny McCarthy also will be live in Times Square where Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line, MAGIC! and Idina Menzel will perform for an anticipated 1 million fans. Fergie will host the Billboard Hollywood Party and perform along with previously announced artists Charli XCX, One Direction and Meghan Trainor. Gavin DeGraw and Lady Antebellum will perform live from Nashville.
