LOS ANGELES, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Jennifer Lawrence can add pop star to her list of achievements.

The 24-year-old actress recorded "The Hanging Tree" for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, and the song has reached the Top 20 charts in Australia and the U.K. The track currently stands at No. 12 on ARIA's Australian Top 50, and at No. 14 on the Official U.K. Singles chart.

"The Hanging Tree" was written by Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins and The Lumineers' Jeremiah Fraites and Wesley Schultz, with music by James Newton Howard. Lawrence admitted she was reluctant to record the song in an interview with David Letterman in November.

"I do not like singing in front of other people, that's like my biggest fear," she confessed. "I have a southern mother who would just tell me that I was amazing at everything, that I could do everything. But I can't."

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 sees Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) continue her fight against President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and the Capitol. The film debuted in theaters Nov. 21, and will be followed by The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 in November 2015.
