Lil Wayne wins big at BET Hip Hop Awards

NEW YORK, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Lil Wayne picked up six prizes, including for Best Live Performer and Lyricist of the Year, at the 6th annual BET Hip Hop Awards show in Atlanta.

The rapper shared awards for Best Hip Hop Video, Best Collaboration, Best Featured Verse and Viewers' Choice for "Look At Me Now," his song with Chris Brown and Busta Rhymes.

Nicki Minaj was named MVP of the Year and Kanye West's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" won the title of CD of the Year.

Mike Epps served as host of the show, which featured appearances by DMX, Swizz Beatz, Big Sean, Roscoe Dash, Rick Ross, Wale, Meek Mill, El Debarge, Wiz Khalifa, Heavy D and Tyrese.

LL COOL J was honored as the 2011 recipient of the I Am Hip Hop Icon Award.
