Grass Roots rocker Rob Grill dead at 67

ORLANDO, Fla., July 14 (UPI) -- Rocker Rob Grill has died in a Florida hospice facility after suffering a head injury in a fall and lapsing into a coma, his family said. He was 67.

The Orlando Sentinel said the former lead singer of The Grass Roots died Monday while listening to one of his favorite of the band's songs, "Let's Live for Today."

The group is also known for its hits "Midnight Confessions," "Temptation Eyes," "Sooner or Later" and "Things I Should Have Said."

The Sentinel quoted Grill's wife Nancy as saying in an online posting: "He loved his fans and he loved The Grass Roots! Thank you for all of your prayers, love and support during this time."
