NEW YORK, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Rockers Bono and The Edge are to attend several preview performances of "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" so they can help fix the troubled Broadway musical.

A spokesman for the $65 million ground-breaking show told EW.com the U2 musicians, who penned the score for director Julie Taymor's original staging of "Spider-Man," will join the creative team in fine-tuning the musical.

"Julie and Bono and Edge … will be in the theater next week and for all of the preview performances leading up to the opening night working on the show," production representative Rick Miramontez told EW.com exclusively.

The musical, which has been plagued by technical difficulties that injured four actors, is scheduled to officially open Feb. 7.
