LONDON, March 23 (UPI) -- The first trailer for the highly anticipated Bridget Jones's Baby was released during star Renee Zellweger's appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The clip, released Wednesday, shows Zellweger's titular character Bridget Jones stumbling through life -- still hitting the gym and working as a television producer -- now with a baby on the way. The beloved British character's biggest problem: she doesn't know who the father is.

The two potential dads, played by Colin Firth and Patrick Dempsey, go on to support Jones all the while being unaware of each other, prompting some awkward and risky situations throughout the trailer.

Both Emma Thompson and British singer Ed Sheeran are also seen in celebrity cameos, with the latter artist turning down Jones's advances at a bar.

"Everything is completely under control...sort of," Zellweger's character utters in a voiceover toward the clip's end, as she is being drenched by overhead sprinklers.

In December, Zellweger expressed her love for Jones's character to Entertainment Weekly, saying "I like that she tells stories about what it's like to be a woman and these really relatable situations at certain times in life."

Bridget Jones's Baby will arrive in theaters Sept. 16. It follows 2004's Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and 2001's Bridget Jones's Diary. The first two films earned a combined $544.4 million at the box office.
