Meryl Streep sings in new trailer for 'Into the Woods'

The film is based on the Steven Sondheim musical of the same name.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Meryl Streep sings in a new trailer for Disney film Into the Woods.

The 65-year-old actress portrays The Witch alongside James Corden as The Baker, Emily Blunt as The Baker's Wife, Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, Chris Pine as Cinderella's Prince, Johnny Depp as The Wolf, Lilla Crawford as Little Red Riding Hood, MacKenzie Mauzy as Rapunzel and Daniel Huttlestone as Jack.

Into the Woods is directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago) and adapted from the Stephen Sondheim Broadway musical of the same name. The story follows the childless Baker and his wife as they attempt to lift a curse placed on them by The Witch, and encounter characters from various Brothers Grimm fairy tales.

Into the Woods opens in theaters Dec. 25.
