June 9 (UPI) -- The 2021 CMT Music Awards will take place Wednesday evening.
The annual awards show will air at 8 p.m. EDT on CMT, MTV, MTV 2, Logo, Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT Australia.

June 9 (UPI) -- The 2021 CMT Music Awards will take place Wednesday evening. The annual awards show will air at 8 p.m. EDT on CMT, MTV, MTV 2, Logo, Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT Australia.
Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown will host the show, a fan-voted awards show that recognizes country music videos and television performances.
Ballerini will perform with LANY's Paul Klein, while Brown will take the stage with Chris Young. Other performers include H.E.R. and Chris Stapleton, Thomas Rhett, Breland and Mickey Guyton, NEEDTOBREATHE and Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan.
Maren Morris and Gabby Barrett announced this week that they will no longer perform at the event. Morris said on Instagram Stories that she had a "scheduling conflict," while Barrett cited "personal circumstances."
Morris and Miranda Lambert lead the list of nominees with four nominations each, including Female Video of the Year, Collaborative Video of the Year and two nominations each for Video of the Year.
Ballerini, Brown, Little Big Town and Guyton follow with three nominations each.

The show begins Wednesday at 8 p.m. EDT on CMT, MTV, MTV 2, Logo, Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT Australia.
