Cardi B to speak at Vogue's Forces of Fashion summit

Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Cardi B has joined the roster of Vogue's 2019 Forces of Fashion summit.

Vogue announced Monday that the 26-year-old rapper will speak at the conference, which runs Oct. 10-11 in New York.

Cardi B will discuss her rise to fame, her ties to the fashion world and her plans for the future with Vogue creative director Sally Singer at "The Icon, Explained" panel Oct. 10.

Vogue said Cardi B "represents a new generation of the self-made American Dream" in many ways. The magazine also praised the rapper's "rambunctious spirit," "brave tongue" and success on the Forces of Fashion website.

The 2019 summit will also feature a panel with model Cindy Crawford and her daughter, Kaia Gerber, and a conversation between fashion designer Donatella Versace and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

Cardi B is a rising style icon known for her bold looks. Her notable looks include the custom Thom Browne gown she wore to the Met Gala in May.

Cardi B released her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy, in April 2018. She is known for the singles "Bodak Yellow," "I Like It," "Money," "Please Me" with Bruno Mars and "Press."
