LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Chris Brown and Soulja Boy have announced their plans to settle their differences in the ring with help from boxing great Floyd Mayweather.

Brown announced his intentions to fight Soulja Boy in a celebrity boxing match on Instagram writing, "It's been amazing to see how many people tune in to negativity. Now that we have your undivided attention...boxing match set. Legally. Man to man. No more dissing and no more [expletive]."

"Me as a black man, looked back at my actions on social media and what I thought of myself is this..."Clown." So this isn't an apology. I'm taking responsibility for my ignorance," he continued.

The post was accompanied by a comedic clip featuring two unnamed individuals reenacting a previous video from Soulja Boy in which he called out Brown to fight him in Compton before getting into an altercation with another man.

The idea for a fight gained steam after Mayweather posted a fight poster featuring the two musicians. The image notably explains that the three-round bout is coming soon to pay-per-view. Mayweather's TMT and Mayweather Promotions logos are also present.

Soulja Boy shared the same image, writing, "It's going down! Signed my contract. I'm leaving the fight with $1,000,000. I got the best ever my big bro @floydmayweather training me."

The "Crank That" performer then followed that up with photos and video of himself with Mayweather indicating that the undefeated boxer would be in Soulja Boy's corner.

Fellow rapper 50 Cent also threw his name into the mix by declaring on social media that he is betting Mayweather $100,000 that Brown wins the match. He also stated that Mayweather Promotions would be making the fight a reality.

The feud between the Brown and Soulja Boy started Monday after Soulja Boy proclaimed on social media that Brown had threatened him after liking a photo from his ex, Karrueche Tran. The two have since exchanged a number of jabs on social media including a collection of memes aimed at one another.

Since then, Tran has called the feud "ridiculous" and stated "it makes no sense." Soulja Boy had even apologized for his role in the beef Wednesday but now appears game to meet Brown in the ring.
