Former Blink-182 singer, Clinton campaign in contact about aliens

WASHINGTON, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- The former lead singer and guitarist for punk band Blink-182 has been contacting the Hillary Clinton campaign about aliens and unidentified flying objects, according to newly released emails.

The recent release of emails stolen from Clinton's presidential campaign by Wikileaks reveal campaign chairman John Podesta has been receiving email from Tom Delonge about increasing government disclosure of information UFOs and alien life.

Delonge's emails include an offer to introduce Podesta to two "A-level" officials he says were involved with UFO research, and another referring to a former military official he links to the Roswell, New Mexico, crash of a surveillance balloon that conspiracy theorists was actually a UFO.

"I think you will find them very interesting, as they were principal leadership relating to our sensitive topic," Delonge writes about the officials in one email. "Both were in charge of most fragile divisions, as it relates to Classified Science and DOD topics. Other words, these are A-Level officials. Worth our time, and as well the investment to bring all the way out to you."

Delonge left Blink-182 in late 2015 to focus on a new project, Sekret Machines, a multimedia project that already has led to a book on UFOs and aliens. According to the emails, Delonge also is working on a documentary film that Podesta -- who has expressed interest in obtaining and releasing government documents about UFOs -- appears in.

Although some fans were surprised Delonge left the band to focus on conspiracy theories about aliens, his lyrics touched on the topic several times over years, most notably in the Blink-182 song "Aliens Exist."
