LOS ANGELES, June 10 (UPI) -- Ben Affleck has taken to social media to pay tribute to Matt Damon for National Best Friends Day.

"This guy. #NationalBestFriendsDay," the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star wrote on Instagram Thursday alongside a collage featuring the two friends celebrating Damon's birthday.

The throwback photo most likely taken sometime between their costarring roles in Good Will Hunting and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, notably displays Damon shoving Affleck's face head-first into his birthday cake while laughing.

A smiling Affleck is shown with his face completely covered in cake with some frosting that even made it onto his hair.
