NEW YORK, April 5 (UPI) -- Bethenny Frankel is opening up about her recent health issues and the impact they've had on her family.

The 45-year-old Real Housewives of New York star discussed her health with Entertainment Tonight following reports she had cancerous fibroids removed.

"I don't have cancer," Frankel asserted. "I don't even like that that word is sort of out there. I have a couple of female issues going on at the same time that have created kind of the perfect storm. So I am dealing with it."

"It's really important to stay strong for my daughter," she said of 5-year-old daughter Bryn. "When you have a health issue and you have a child it makes you think all these different things that you would never normally think."

In Touch Weekly claimed Frankel suffered from "excessive bleeding" after having fibroids removed in a report last week. The reality star had alluded to surgery in a promo for Real Housewives of New York Season 8.

Frankel shares Bryn with estranged husband Jason Hoppy, whom she split from in 2012. A judge recently ruled Frankel no longer has to pay Hoppy nearly $12,000 per month in spousal support, and she celebrated the news in an interview with People.

"I feel like justice is being served," she said of the ruling. "I feel like I survived something. When it all shakes down, I'll be a woman who has not kind of just felt backed into a corner. I stayed strong and I did what was best for myself, my daughter, for women."

"I think kids need stability and to feel calm and proud of their home," she added of Bryn. "She's an amazing, amazing little girl. She's so happy. She's not really aware of what's going on, which is great. I'm proud of that."

Frankel starred on Seasons 1 through 3 of The Real Housewives of New York City and returned in Season 7. Season 8 will premiere April 6 on Bravo.
