NEW YORK, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Peter Pan icon Sandy Duncan is joining the cast of Broadway's magical musical Finding Neverland.

"Broadway's legendary #PeterPan, #SandyDuncan, makes a grand return to #Neverland as Mrs. Du Maurier, starting 2/9!" representatives for the production tweeted Thursday.

"Based on the Academy Award-winning film of the same name, this breathtaking show follows playwright J.M. Barrie as he summons the courage to become the writer -- and the man -- he yearns to be. Barrie finds the inspiration he's been missing when he meets the beautiful widow Sylvia and her four young sons: Jack, George, Michael and Peter," the show's website said. "Delighted by the boys' hilarious escapades, Barrie conjures the magical world of Neverland and writes a play unlike any the high-society London theatergoers have ever seen. It's a tremendous risk, but as Barrie himself has discovered: When you believe, you can fly."

The current cast of Finding Neverland includes Tony Yazbeck, Laura Michelle Kelly, Kelsey Grammer and Carolee Carmello. Duncan, 69, was nominated for a Tony in 1980 for her portrayal of the titular imp in Peter Pan, which was based on Barrie's most famous character.
