LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Mr. Robot star Rami Malek has revealed that his mother thought Jon Hamm deserved the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series, Drama, over her own son.

When Hamm was announced as the winner, Malek's mother wasn't surprised. "I'm like, 'You understand that's my competition tonight, right?'" Malek asked his mother. "We're both up for Best Actor and she's like, 'It doesn't matter.' And then, we were sitting down and his name got called and he won. She said, 'He deserved it.' I'm like, 'OK.'"
