WASHINGTON, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Pope Francis may get a visit from a group of Hollywood's elite to discuss media matters and the Catholic Church's portrayal in the West.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, representatives of the pope are in contact with Ari Emanuel, Patrick Whitesell, Oprah Winfrey and others in order to set up a meeting at the Vatican. Producer Brian Grazer, actor Matt Damon and David Geffen are also invited, sources tell the outlet.

It is unclear whether any of the entertainment leaders have taken the pope up on his offer.

This isn't the first time Pope Francis socialized with prominent figures in the entertainment industry. Angelina Jolie and Darren Aronofsky reportedly asked for the well-liked figurehead's blessing on their recent films.

The invitation may be in response to Pope Francis' recent decline in popularity among conservatives in the United States. According to a Gallup poll, the pope's favorability among citizens dropped from 76 percent to 59 percent amid his explicit views on climate change and finances.
