LOS ANGELES, May 13 (UPI) -- Jennifer Aniston says the Rachel haircut she wore on Friends was too high maintenance.

The 46-year-old actress revealed as much in an interview with Glamour after years of expressing her distaste for the character's signature hairstyle.

"I was not a fan of the 'Rachel.' That was kind of cringe-y for me," she reiterated before adding, "Looking back -- honestly, even during that time -- I couldn't do it on my own."

"I needed [hairstylist] Chris [McMillan] attached to my hip," she confessed. "Left to my own devices, I am not skilled with a hairbrush and blow-dryer."

Aniston portrayed Rachel Green on the NBC sitcom for 10 seasons. While the character sported smooth hair with face-framing layers, the actress told the magazine she likes "long, natural-looking beachy waves" best.

Aniston last appeared as Claire Bennett in Daniel Barnz drama Cake. The actress will next reunite with Horrible Bosses 2 director Sean Anders for Mean Moms, a comedy about competitive parenting in the upper-middle class suburbs.
