Scarlett Johansson gets unexpected kiss from John Travolta at the Oscars

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- John Travolta was the subject of another viral story after an Academy Award ceremony on Sunday after he was photographed awkwardly kissing Scarlett Johansson on the cheek at the event's red carpet.

The actors were on the 2015 Oscars' red carpet when Travolta, 61, approached the new mom, 30, to say hello.

While why Travolta did this remains unknown, the Grease star was captured by photographers attempting to smooch an unresponsive Johansson who was focused on posing for pictures in an emerald green Versace gown.

Travolta made similarly awkward headlines at the Oscars 2014 after he mispronounced Idina Menzel's name as Adele Dazeem before announcing her performance.
