Val Kilmer shows off extreme weight loss during Malibu outing

MALIBU, Calif., Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Val Kilmer made headlines Wednesday after stepping out in Malibu looking considerably slimmer than he used to.

The 54-year-old Batman Forever star was photographed in a button-down, slacks and sneakers outside a Levi's store. The actor appears covering his lips at the time the photo was taken.

While the new figure is a long departure from his old look, the weight loss has been gradual. TMZ shared in September similar photos of the actor looking considerable thinner than he used to. At the time, sources told the publication Kilmer slimmed down by eating healthy and exercising with long walks on the beach near his Malibu home.

Kilmer is best known for his roles in films like Tombstone (1993), Heat (1995) and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005).
