HOLLYWOOD, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston will star in an upcoming film in a role with parallels to his character Walter White.

Cranston will play an ordinary-seeming suburban serial killer in Holland, Michigan, directed by Errol Morris.

Morris stated in an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit earlier this week that he is "making a dramatic feature this year with Bryan Cranston, Naomi Watts, and Edgar Ramirez." The director is well-known for his involvement in several critically-acclaimed documentaries, including The Thin Blue Line, The Fog of War, and The Act of Killing.

Morris described Holland, Michigan in July of last year as "a Hitchcock-like movie" set at a tulip festival.

Watts will play Cranston's wife, who initially suspects her husband of cheating but discovers his secret is much more sinister.

The film is currently in pre-production and will be released sometime next year. Cranston also will star in a remake of Godzilla, to be released in May of this year.
