NATALIE WOOD: Actress Natalie Wood suffered bruises and scratches on her arm, wrist and neck before she drowned in the Pacific Ocean in 1981, a report released said.

Precisely how she was hurt remains a mystery, however.

Wood, 43, died during a yacht trip off Catalina Island with husband Robert Wagner and their friend, actor Christopher Walken. She was initially said to have drowned accidentally while she tried to tie up a dinghy, which was attached to the yacht, but had come loose during the night.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department re-opened the case in November 2011 and the coroner later changed the cause of her death from accidental to drowning and other undetermined factors.

Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran from the coroner's office released a supplemental report Monday, saying he could not verify the injuries the "West Side Story" and "Miracle on 34th Street" actress sustained were caused by falling off a dinghy or attempting to climb back into the boat. The coroner also said she died shortly after entering the water, the Los Angeles Times said.

"The location of the bruises, the multiplicity of the bruises, lack of head trauma, or facial bruising support bruising having occurred prior to the entry into the water," the report said.

"Since there are many unanswered questions and limited additional evidence available for evaluation, it is opined by this medical examiner that the manner of death should be left as undetermined."

He went on to say he could not rule out "non-volitional, unplanned entry into the water," the Times said.

Wagner has always denied any wrongdoing related to his wife's death.

LANCE ARMSTRONG: The Livestrong Foundation says disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong apologized to about 100 staffers at the cancer charity's Austin, Texas, headquarters.

Livestrong spokeswoman Katherine McLane told ABC News Armstrong offered a "sincere and heartfelt apology," which generated lots of tears.

McLane also said he "took responsibility" for the trouble he has caused the foundation, but she did not elaborate regarding whether he admitted he used performance-enhancing drugs while competing, ABC News said.

The move comes days before Oprah Winfrey's interview with the athlete and cancer survivor is to air on television.

Although Armstrong has vehemently denied accusations he used performance-enhancing drugs and was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles as a result of the allegations, sources told ABC News he is expected to finally admit his wrongdoing to Winfrey.

Armstrong stepped down as Livestrong chairman last fall amid the controversy.

MINDY McCREADY: Troubled country music artist Mindy McCready says singer-songwriter David Wilson, her boyfriend of two years, has died at home in Heber Springs, Ark.

"David was my soul mate," McCready said in a statement Monday. "He was a precious gift from God to all of us and, yesterday, he returned home and is now with his mother and father. David loved and was loved. Those who knew and loved him will miss him; those who did not know David missed the opportunity to know a truly loving and gifted man."

People.com said the cause of Wilson's death Sunday was not immediately disclosed and no funeral plans have been made yet.

Wilson, 34, is the father of McCready's 9-month-old son.

McCready's once-bright career has been sidelined in recent years by her substance abuse issues, suicide attempts and legal woes.

"Nora Ephron began her professional career as a reporter at The New York Post in 1962 and 'Lucky Guy,' marks a return to her journalistic roots," a news release said. "Her new play is about the scandal- and graffiti-ridden New York of the 1980s, as told through the story of the charismatic and controversial tabloid columnist Mike McAlary."

The cast also includes Maura Tierney, Christopher McDonald, Peter Gerety, Courtney B. Vance, Peter Scolari and Richard Masur.

The play is the third collaboration between Hanks and Ephron, following the films "Sleepless in Seattle" and "You've Got Mail."

Ephron died last year of cancer. She was 71.
