LOS ANGELES, May 29 (UPI) -- Harvey Korman, 81, who starred in "The Carol Burnett Show" on TV and in "Blazing Saddles" on the big screen, died Thursday in Los Angeles, his family said.
Korman died of complications from a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm he suffered four months ago, USA Today reported.
A Chicago native, Korman got his early training in the acting profession at the Windy City's Goodman Theatre, where he performed Shakespeare, Shaw and Ibsen, the newspaper said.
He later spent 10 years in a supporting role to Carol Burnett. He earned four Emmys for his television work.
Korman also spent four seasons on The Danny Kaye Show in the early '60s and did voice-over work on "Tom and Jerry" and as the Great Gazoo on "The Flintstones."
