NEW YORK, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- After being moored for nearly three weeks due to the Broadway stagehand strike, Conor McPherson's new drama "The Seafarer" is set to officially open.

The latest effort from the Irish playwright who penned "The Weir" and "Shining City" is slated to open on Broadway Thursday night.

The National Theatre of Great Britain's production began previews at New York's Booth Theatre Oct. 30, but its original opening night of Nov. 15 had to be postponed because of the strike.

The Broadway company includes Ciaran Hinds, Conleth Hill, Sean Mahon, David Morse and Jim Norton. Hill and Norton both appeared in the U.K. production, as well, Playbill.com noted.
