Businessman to throw chart-topping party

LIVERPOOL, England, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- A wealthy businessman in Britain reportedly is spending millions for chart-topping acts to perform at his party.

Britain's Sky News said property developer Ray Smith of Merseyside is planning to have Westlife, Atomic Kitten, the Sugababes and Lionel Richie play at his Christmas party.

Smith, 40, also plans to rent a snow machine for the garden to compliment the bash. The reported price tag for the event is 1.5 million pounds ($3 million dollars).

The Independent reported on last year's Christmas party at the Smith house, which featured former S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens and the 1980s band Go West.
