BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Jan. 16 (UPI) -- "Brokeback Mountain" led the pack with four Golden Globe Awards Monday night, including best director for Ang Lee and best dramatic film.
The gay cowboy film also garnered Golden Globes for the best screenplay for writers Diana Ossana and Larry McMurtry and best original song for
"A Love That Will Never Grow Old" by composer Gustavo Santoalalla and lyricist Bernie Taupin.
"Walk the Line" received three Golden Globes from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, including best comedy or musical film and the top acting awards for its stars Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix.
ABC swept the top television awards with its "Desperate Housewives" winning the Golden Globe for best TV comedy and "Lost" taking the best TV drama award.
ABC's Geena Davis won the Globe for best actress in a drama series for her role as "Commander in Chief" while Mary Louise Parker won best actress in a comedy for Showtime's "Weeds."
Steve Carell took the top comedy acting Globe for NBC's "The Office" and Fox TV's "House" star Hugh Laurie was named best dramatic actor.
Felicity Huffman was named best dramatic film actress for "Transamerica" and Philip Seymour Hoffman won the top dramatic actor Globe for "Capote."
George Clooney was best supporting film actor for his role in "Syriana" and Rachel Weisz took the supporting actress Globe for "The Constant Gardiner."
The winners of the Golden Globes now become the favorites to repeat the feat at the upcoming Oscars.
