Men's Health names men of the decade

LONDON, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Britain's Men's Health magazine's list of the Top 10 Men of the Decade includes U.S. cartoon dad Homer Simpson and Blur's Damon Albarn.

Simpson was named philosopher of the decade for teaching "a generation how to take on the challenge of modern fatherhood and win -- although not always with honor," the magazine said.

Albarn was named the decade's top musician while the top activist was musician and Live Aid/Live 8 founder Bob Geldof.

U.S. cycling champ Lance Armstrong was named top sportsman, Paul Smith was top designer and Ian McEwan was top writer.

Jonathon Ive, creator of the iPod, was named the top visionary of the decade, while Britian's TV chef Jamie Oliver was No. 1 cook.

The magazine said its list is compiled of people who used their talents to change the world and made solid contributions that will be remembered "rather than temporary fame."
