The Who join London's 'Live 8' concert

LONDON, June 14 (UPI) -- The Who joined the lineup for the London "Live 8" concert, one of five events pressing eight world leaders to fight poverty during their summit in Scotland.

Original Who members Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey will be joined by drummer Zack Starkey, bassist Pino Paladino and keyboardist John "Rabbit" Bundrick at the July 2 Hyde Park concert, Rolling Stone reported.

The star-studded lineup already includes Pink Floyd in its first reunion as well as Coldplay, Elton John, Madonna, Paul McCartney, Sting and U2.

The five Live 8 concerts are timed to coincide with the July 6-8 G8 economic summit in Perthshire, Scotland.

Musicians hope to convince the eight world leaders to focus on fighting poverty.
