Naomi Campbell forced to borrow a dress

CANNES, France, May 20 (UPI) -- Model Naomi Campbell argued with Danish designer Jurgen and had to borrow a dress for the Nelson Mandela charity ball Thursday in Cannes, France.

At issue was a nearly $13,000 dress that was too large for the 34-year-old model, whose entire 20-dress wardrobe disappeared from the yacht she was staying on during the Cannes International Film Festival.

"They argued, he ran off," a friend told The Sun. "She was marooned in her undies. She had to borrow a dress for the ball."

"They've robbed my clothes, all my things," an upset Campbell said as she arrived three hours late at the Nelson Mandela charity event.

Only the gallantry of Formula 1 race driver Jenson Button cheered her up.

"The first person to greet her was Jenson, who threw his jacket over her because she was wearing so little," one attendee told the London newspaper.
