Tarantino considering 'Kill Bill' prequel

NEW YORK, April 6 (UPI) -- Hollywood filmmaker Quentin Tarantino says he is considering making an animated prequel to his "Kill Bill" flicks.

"Kill Bill, Volume 1" is due out on DVD and video next week, while the second installment in the kung-fu revenge saga will be released in U.S. theaters April 23.

But Tarantino, the writer/director credited with reinventing film violence in movies like "Pulp Fiction" and "Reservoir Dogs," tells the May issue of Empire magazine he may yet reopen the bloody book on Bill (David Carradine) and the Bride (Uma Thurman.)

"Yeah, I've been thinking about revisiting the story in a couple of ways," Tarantino said. "I've been thinking about doing it as an anime feature that would tell the entire origin of Bill."

"Kill Bill, Volume 1" features a violent anime sequence explaining how one of the film's most ruthless assassins became what she was.

Tarantino said he is debating using animation or live-action to tell the story of a child whose mother was one of the Bride's victims in the first "Kill Bill" film.
