Jan. 5 (UPI) -- U.S. Special Operations Command has awarded a contract to Raytheon for the Silent Knight Radar Operational Flight program development.
The terms of the deal, announced Thursday by the Department of Defense, taps Raytheon to provide line items for the Silent Knight Radar Operational Flight program, a next-generation terrain following, terrain avoidance system designed to increase the situational awareness of fixed-wing transport aircraft in low visibility conditions.
