BRISBANE, Australia, June 23 (UPI) -- U.S. company Boeing announced the successful completion of formal testing for a critical component of the Modernized High Frequency Communications System.
Boeing says the mobile air platform component of the MHFCS recently passed formal testing in Brisbane, Australia. The MHFCS is under development for the Australian defense forces to upgrade communications technologies with next-generation secured voice and data transmission capabilities along with greater levels of automation and performance.
Company officials say the mobile air platform component passing formal testing marks a milestone for the MHFCS ahead of a future delivery to the Australian defense forces.
"It is very rewarding to see the mobile air component of the MHFCS being formally tested and producing the results we expected," said Mike Scott, Boeing High Frequency Modernization Program director, said in a statement.
