NEWTON, N.C., June 8 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has modified a contract with General Dynamics to continue supporting the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical program.
U.S. company General Dynamics says its Satellite Communications Technologies unit was awarded the Army WIN-T contract modification. Under the $119 million deal, General Dynamics will deliver 293 of its Satellite Transportable Terminals and six of its Unit Hub SATCOM Trucks to support the WIN-T program.
Officials say the contract modification also includes 534 of General Dynamics' Ka-band upgrade kits and spares among other support services.
"The Satellite Transportable Terminals and Unit Hub SATCOM Trucks which General Dynamics is delivering to WIN-T provide reliable video, voice and data communications that meet the Army's expanding requirements," Gary Kanipe, General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies vice president and general manager, said in a statement.
"Through our production and refinement of these terminals, we offer a proven solution for mobile tactical SATCOM requirements to the U.S. Army, NATO forces and other U.S. allies."
