FAIRFAX, Va., March 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted QinetiQ North America to provide engineering and evaluation support for space operations.
QinetiQ North America said its Mission Solutions Group was awarded the contract from the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center. Under the $250 million blanket purchase agreement, QinetiQ will provide systems engineering, evaluation and simulation support services to advance space initiatives.
Officials said the space-services contract also includes provisions for QinetiQ to provide logistics and concept development for satellite systems and satellite ground stations.
"We are proud to have earned this opportunity to extend our space expertise to the Air Force," Paul Lockhart, QinetiQ senior vice president for space solutions, said in a statement.
"We look forward to providing our Air Force partners the same mission-focused solutions we have long delivered to NASA."
