Harris supplying military radios to Morocco under FMS deal

ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 10 (UPI) -- Harris Corporation is to supply Morocco with tactical communications equipment under a five-year follow-on contract from the U.S. Army.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award is the result of a U.S. Foreign Military Sales agreement and carries ceiling value of $405 million.

Equipment covered includes export versions of the company's Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System, or SINCGARS; ground and airborne configurations of the SpearNet Team Member radio; associated products and spares; and training, installation and field service support.

Additional details of the award were not provided.

"Harris' SINCGARS and other tactical radios deliver situational awareness into the hands of the warfighter," said Chris Young, president, Harris Communication Systems. "This agreement expands the range of communications products and services Harris provides to international customers under FMS contracts."
