"The new office will better serve our growing federal government clientele, with sales and service combined in the same location," said Astrophysics President, Francois Zayek. "We are expanding our footprint in the United States, creating skilled American jobs, and enhancing our research and development capabilities."

Astrophysics said Mark Laustra, who has nearly a decade of experience in directing sales for the U.S. homeland security market will lead the operation.

"I am excited about further developing this key market for Astrophysics," he said. "We've been in business for more than 10 years and are attracting significant market attention as a supplier of advanced, government qualified X-ray systems."
