L-3 providing IT support to U.S. Army Reserve

NEW YORK, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- U.S. Army Reserve automated information systems will receive support services from L-3 Communications under a task order worth $357 million.

The task order to L-3's National Security Solutions Group was issued under the U.S. General Services Administration's Alliant contract vehicle. Work under the task order is expected to continue through 2018.

"This win is a testament to the collaborative capabilities of L-3 and our agility in identifying ways to enhance our offerings to our customers," said Les Rose, president of L-3's NSS Group. "By leveraging expertise and resources from across the company, and through key external partnerships, our work will provide Army Reserve and National Guard soldiers continuity of current operations as well as advancements in software development and IT life-cycle support, and we are proud to assist them."

L-3 said that under the order it will provide software development, systems integration, distance learning and IT technical support services for the Reserve Component Automation program to modernize and sustain an automated information system that helps the Army Reserve and National Guard in unit mobilization planning and readiness.
