Performance recognition for Lockheed unit

DALLAS, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has recognized Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control business unit for its performance excellence.

The department named the business unit the 2012 recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for its achievements in leadership, strategic planning, customer relations, measurement and analysis, workforce and operations focus and results.

"Receiving the Malcolm Baldrige Award is a tremendous honor for Missiles and Fire Control," said James F. Berry, president of Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control business. "It represents the culmination of a 15-year journey focused on performance excellence, which has been ingrained in all we do.

"It is a testament to our employees' dedication to excel in every aspect of our business and deliver unmatched value to our customers."

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control designs, develops and produces advanced combat, missile, rocket and ground vehicle systems for U.S. and allied nations.
