SAIC to support U.S. Navy Medicine R&D

MCLEAN, Va., Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Operational, medical research and development services for the U.S. Navy are to be provided by SAIC under a multiple-award contract.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award for the Navy Medicine research and development enterprise was given to the Virginia company by the U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division.

Science Applications International Corp. said its support services will include behavioral science, epidemiology, deployment health, aerospace medicine and environmental health modeling and simulation and others.

The contract, shared with 20 other contractors, is for three years. One two-year option and one six-month option is included. If all options are exercised, the total contract value is more than $497 million.
