U.S. contracts for Guam communications

TAMUNING, Guam, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- The U.S. Department of Defense has renewed a contract with GTA TeleGuam for local voice and data communications services.

The services are for the U.S. Naval Base and Andersen Air Force Base on Guam and the Joint Region Marianas. The contract is for five years and worth $1.9 million.

Joint Region Marianas oversees support services, policies and resources for U.S. Naval Base Guam and Andersen Air Force Base.

"In a fiercely competitive environment, this contract renewal is a vote of confidence for GTA TeleGuam's track record of performance, network investment history and competitive pricing," said Roland Certeza, executive vice president of sales and marketing for GTA TeleGuam.

"Excellent, reliable communications services are vital for our military and GTA TeleGuam was again prepared for the rigorous scrutiny."

GTA TeleGuam is privately owned and locally managed company that serves the U.S. military, government agencies and the local civilian community.
