$120M order for weapons training equipment

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Cubic Corp.'s Simulation Systems Division in Florida is providing immersive weapons training equipment to a Middle East customer.

The prime contract for comprehensive marksmanship and small arms training capabilities is worth more than $120 million-- the largest contract the division has ever received.

"Won in the face of intense international competition, it provides a solid multiyear foundation for our virtual training business and reinforces Cubic's role as the leading provider of immersive and marksmanship training equipment."

Under the contract, immersive training equipment for a variety or weapons -- as well as sniper, mortar and close air support skills -- will be provided for 20 training locations.

The identity of the customer and other contract details weren't disclosed.

Cubic Corp. said that in addition to its combat training systems and defense electronics business, company subsidiaries provide services to the maritime and public transportation industries.
