SAINT-PRIEST, France, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- A new line of all-terrain trucks for use by law enforcement officers has been introduced by Renault Trucks Defense of France.
The company said the vehicles have a large interior volume and payload capacity and offer protection against multiple threats.
The new MIDS vehicle is designed for internal public security missions and is the security and law enforcement version of the Sherpa line of vehicles.
Renault Trucks Defense SAS -- a subsidiary of Renault Trucks -- develops, manufactures and markets armored, tactical and logistic vehicles for the specific needs of armed forces and internal security forces worldwide.
Renault Trucks Defense is a historic partner of defense and security since the first French tank, the FT-17, developed by Renault 100 years ago.
Among its products: Sherpa light tactical and light armored vehicles; Sherpa medium tactical trucks; Kerax, Midlum and Master logistic trucks; VAB Mark II and MRAP medium armored vehicles; and 8x8 driveline of the VBCI heavy armored vehicle.
