The company said its engineers will work alongside the British navy training team at the Clyde, Devonport and HMS Collingwood naval bases to ensure that the Submarine and Mine Warfare Training Systems are ready and available to meet a demanding training schedule.

As well as providing core service levels of technical support and corrective and preventative maintenance, the BAE Systems team will progressively incorporate additional training elements into the system to meet emerging warfare training requirements.

"This announcement comes on the back of other recent support contract awards including a $76 million contract to provide support for the Combat Management System on the navy's Type 23 frigates and Royal Fleet Auxiliary Argus," said David Leitch, Naval Command and Information Systems director, BAE Systems Mission Systems, said.

"Delivering this new contract alongside our established Maritime Composite Training System and Astute Class Training Service contracts will help us continue to deliver cost effective warfare mission training systems and services to the navy as part of our comprehensive Readiness and Sustainment offering."
