Intel agency taps BAE for IT support

ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency has chosen BAE Systems to improve effectiveness and quality of its information technology services in support of troops.

The services contracted come under two competitive, five-year task orders under the Solutions for the Information Technology Enterprise and carry a total value of about $350 million.

Under the task orders BAE will implement its Enterprise Services Delivery Model to significantly improve the effectiveness and quality of IT services delivery across the full spectrum of back office, field services, customer care, close support services, network services and missions applications operations for DIA's support of the warfighter.

Dramatic cost reductions in recurring enterprise operations costs are expected to be achieved through innovations in services automation, knowledge management, remote management processes and information-sharing.

BAE is teaming with a number of partners and suppliers in the effort. They are Accenture, L3 Stratis, SAIC, Vykin Corporation, Cyberspace Solutions Inc, DSA, ISYS Technologies, Mainstreet Technologies, NES, Nova Datacom and Primescape.
